Breaking Barriers, Creating Opportunities

From the start, ComSIL-SL has worked to address the barriers that prevent women from realizing their full potential. Through our skills training and livelihood programs, women are gaining access to practical knowledge, financial independence, and the confidence to lead change within their communities.

We provide training in areas such as tailoring, small business management, agriculture, and entrepreneurship, giving women the tools to build sustainable sources of income. But beyond skills, we empower women to believe in their own strength and leadership.

“Before joining the program, I depended on small, uncertain jobs,” says Mariama, one of our beneficiaries. “Now I run my own small tailoring shop and can provide for my children. I feel proud and hopeful for the future.”

Empowering Women, Strengthening Families

When women succeed, families flourish. An empowered woman invests in her children’s education, health, and nutrition. She becomes a voice for fairness and growth in her household and community.

Through ComSIL-SL’s programs, over 1,000 women and youth have been equipped with the skills and confidence to transform their lives. Many are now running small businesses, mentoring others, and contributing to community development.

We also promote gender equality and protection, ensuring that women and girls live free from violence and discrimination. Our approach integrates empowerment with safety, creating spaces where women can learn, lead, and live with dignity.
